R&B star Frank Ocean is all about pushing things forward. When he dropped his debut album “Channel Orange” in 2012, many music critics and fans alike hailed the album as being progressive. Now, Frank Ocean is using that progressive attitude in his business life. right before the release of his upcoming second album, Ocean has parted ways with both his management and PR teams.

According to BuzzFeed, Ocean was being managed by Christian and Kelly Clancy. The Clancys have managed Frank Ocean and his Odd Future crew since they hit it bug in  2010. They also mange Solange Knowles and Mac Miller. Frank Ocean surprised the couple by telling them their services were no longer needed as he planned to take his career in a different direction. Ocean has yet to name a new manager.

Frank Ocean’s publicity team wasn’t safe from the firing squad either. His PR team Life or Death PR who also handled Ocean’s press since 2010 was recently replaced by the Hollywood giant ID PR. ID PR counts Grammy Award-winning Alicia Keys, Oscar winners Sean Penn and Jennifer Lawrence.

Reasons for the sudden changes are unknown as reps for the singer and his former management and publicity teams have all declined to comment on the matter.
