The clock is ticking on Lance Stephenson and there is a very big decision to be made on where he will end up for the 2014-2015 NBA Season. As we all know Lance turned down a five-year, $44 million contract with the Pacers. He felt he was being “low balled” and could definitely get more than what the Pacers were offering. However that doesn’t appear to be the case right now.

Although the Celtics, Lakers and Mavericks have “shown interest”, Lance is slowly running out of options to match or beat 44 million over 5 years and he is also running out of places that would even consider him to be a starting Point Guard in the NBA.

The word on Lance is he has heart, plays with a lot of energy but he can be erratic, inconsistent and sometimes his antics are more of a negative distraction than a help. It’s obvious the face of the franchise, Paul George feels a certain way about Lance per his last press conference when he was asked about him returning next year.

So we’re letting you play Front Office and Player in need. What should Lance Stephenson do for the next NBA Season? Answer in the poll below

Personal assessment: Lance just won’t be able to get all the money he wants. Unfortunately, the Point Guard position benchmark is so high that the new guys have to be extraordinary to get the big paydays. Westbrook, Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, Rondo, even Rose and Nash have all been “The Guy” and they just produce at a level beyond what Lance has done when healthy under the status quo of what a Point Guard is. Until Lance can prove he’s a Top 10 Point Guard in this league and is a positive consistent impact player, he can forget about making 10 million or more a year.

I wonder what K Michelle doing…
