It’s time to say farewell to “106 & Park.” BET has decided to take the show off the air for a strictly all-digital show, BET reports.

MUST SEE: Where are the ‘106 & Park’ VJs Now?

The show had a 14-year run, which is pretty impressive since most video countdown shows have come and gone. The final episode will air December 19.

From BET’s Stephen Hill, President of Music Programming and Specials:

It’s been a great 14 year run as America’s top music/variety show on cable. And now that very valuable brand is going to take its talents to the digital realm. The interactive brand you helped build, 106 & Park, is alive and well…and it’s moving to the space in which our audience NOW interacts with music the most; online.

As we transition to the digital space, we look to continue 106 & Park’s role as both a leader of and a mirror to youth culture.

BET will continue to host its New Year’s Eve special, as well as cover the BET Awards with the BET Experience.

Maybe the network started to feel the pressure from Google? The Internet giant just announced  a subscription-based music service strictly for YouTube videos, which would allow the consumer to watch ad-free. That directly competes with their market.

Guess we’ll have to see what’s to come for the show’s hosts Bow Wow and Keisha Chante soon.
