In case you missed Lifetime’s airing of their Aaliyah biopic on Saturday, you’re in luck…or not. The film was met with an immense amount of backlash by the fans, close associates of the songstress, and provided an endless string of memes.
Despite the backlash, the controversial film scored Lifetime huge ratings. The film scored 3.2 million viewers, making it the second highest TV movie of the year, behind Lifetime’s “Flowers in the Attic.”
