A friendship and bond like no other.

Clarence E. Huntley and Joseph Shambrey are two members of history’s greatest flight team. The Tuskegee Airmen’s historical military tenure included more than 15,000 missions and earning over 150 Distinguished Flying Crosses (medallions). The two pilots were bonded for life, which unfortunately came to an end at the age of 91.

The highly decorated officers were seen as inseparable. Born six weeks apart, the airmen grew up together running track and later enlisted into the army in 1942. After serving in World War II, Huntley and Shambrey would work together in the National Guard in the Korean War as combat engineers. Once their service time had come to an end, they still maintained contact as friends. According to surviving family members, the officers would rarely let a month go by without speaking or getting together.

Great to see loyalty and true friendship still exist. Rest in Power.
