Lost in most of the talk about “surprise albums” in 2014 was Kid Cudi’s SATELLITE FLIGHT: The Journey To Mother Moon. According to data from Nielsen SoundScan, the project debuted as the country’s fourth highest selling album during the week of March 5, 2014 with 87,000 units sold. After padding his acting resume with a role in Need For Speed, Cudi kicked off 2015 by announcing he was reuniting with A-Trak, Emile Haynie, and Plain Pat for Man on the Moon 3. He didn’t offer a release date, but indicated it would be the final MOTM installment.
Saturday, Cudi announced a new album entitled Speedin’ Bullet To Heaven, which he said was coming “really, really soon.”
With six months having passed since Cudi’s announcement about MOTM 3, the question remains if the Cleveland, Ohio native plans to release both albums during 2015.
