One of the underlying themes of Furious 7 has been the cast and crew continually paying tribute to the late Paul Walker. After Walker died during the 2012 filming of the franchise’s latest installment, his co-stars have given heartfelt tributes, named children after him, and spoken on his legacy. Amid jokes about Walker’s death at Comedy Central’s “Roast Of Justin Bieber,” Furious 7 co-star Ludacris took offense, and he explained his reaction to Gary With Da Tea and the rest of the cast of “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.”

“I almost didn’t make it through the roast, because I was about to slap the hell out of somebody,” Ludacris said. “When you speak about someone who has passed away, and you speak about how they passed away, I feel like enough time hasn’t gone past. It’s people still mourning.”

Luda added that he spoke to the producers and the individuals responsible for the jokes on a one-on-one basis. He conceded being close to Walker likely made the jokes hit home for him, but he also reinforced his opinion of the jokes being inappropriate.
