Hip-Hop’s love affair with sneakers is well documented but how many artists have the swagger to nab their own shoe? Under varying circumstances you can find some sneaks emblazoned with the official stamp of your favorite MC and some deceased artists even get memorialized on limited edition kicks.
It’s crazy to think that once upon a time companies like Adidas wouldn’t give groups like RUN DMC their official nod even after promoting their product for years, and now even Soulja Boy can get a sneaker deal.
With Jay-Z’s new Rocawear Revolution shoes (damn they look like Air Yeezys) hitting stores last month I took a look back at SOME other rapper branded kicks to come through the shops.
