It’s only June, and UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey has already landed roles in two of the biggest movies of the year: first in Fast & Furious 7, and now the soon-to-be summer blockbuster, Entourage. Along with an appearance with The Rock at Wrestlemania 32 and her upcoming title defense at UFC 190, 2015 is shaping up to be the best year ever for the Mixed Martial Artist.
But with all of Rousey’s outside projects, how does she find time to train for the upcoming defense of her title against Bethe Corriera on August 1 in Rio de Janeiro? Rousey tells The Urban Daily she’s still shooting in the gym. Since Fast & Furious 7 and Entourage being filmed in Los Angeles, she still remained close to Santa Monica, Calif., where she trains. If her fans and competitors believe she’s taking on too much, Rousey says “not to worry because none of the women in the UFC trains has hard” as she does.
We get to see Rousey in the ring on the big screen in Entourage, as Turtle’s love interest and ass kickerJerry Ferrara. The movie drops on June 3 in theaters, and could mark Rousey’s huge leap into film.
There have also been rumors that Rousey will take the WWE ring in the near future. She declined to go into detail about the possibility of getting into the squared circle, and said she would rather surprise her fans, but she can’t wait to enter the wrestling ring again.
When asked about her upcoming title defense against Corriera, Rousey tells TUD that she can’t wait to head to Brazil. She expects the fight to go past her 15-second “Instagram time limit.” Even though her last match against Cat Zingano lasted 14 seconds, she still expects a quick fight and another victory in Corriera’s backyard.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see Rousey at WWE’s Summerslam on August 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. If she defeats Corriera you can almost bet on it.
