It’s not often, if ever, you get to see the greatest player of a generation go up against the greatest shooter of that same generation in the NBA Finals. Apparently, a lot of people were aware of this throughout the six-game series.
The Associated Press reports that the series drew a 11.6 rating, the highest since the Finals moved to ABC in 2003. That’s a 30 percent increase from last year’s Miami vs. Spurs Finals. Game 6 earned a 13.4 rating — a 9 percent increase from 2013’s dramatic Game 6.
The highest-rated Finals of all-time is still Michael Jordan’s Bulls vs. Jazz in 1998, when NBA on NBC still existed. It was the one featuring The Final Shot.
