Steve McNair Was Legally Drunk When Shot
Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair’s blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit when he was shot and killed by his mistress in a murder/suicide, the state’s assistant medical examiner said on Monday.
Sahel “Jenni” Kazemi, the 20-year old woman who shot McNair and then herself, had a small amount of marijuana in her system, Dr. Feng Li said, according to the Tennessean newspaper.
Li said that McNair’s blood alcohol level was around .16. Kazemi had no alcohol in her system, he said.
The bodies of McNair and Kazemi were found July 4 at a Second Avenue condo the former Tennessee Titan rented with a friend. Investigators say McNair was sleeping on his couch when Kazemi shot him four times before ending her life.
Kazemi was facing a DUI charge after a July 2 traffic stop with McNair in the passenger seat. The video of her traffic stop includes her admission that she was high at the time.
