When we last saw Metta World Peace on an NBA court, he ended his season with a flailing 2013-14 Knicks team. World Peace’s time playing overseas ever since then has ended. He’ll be back with the Lakers this season.

Yahoo! Sports reported that World Peace will sign a one-year contract with Los Angeles. He was taking part in “informal” works out with the team throughout the summer, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The addition won’t make the Lakers a heavyweight, but it does make them more entertaining to watch going into the season. It also adds backbone to a team that has an aging Kobe BryantNick Young, and young stars like Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell.
