Tonight’s Paris tragedy, the worst terrorist attack in the Western Hemisphere since 9/11, exposed the darkness of humanity and sent many in search of compassion However, the hurt did not stop Republicans from using this to spread their agenda. Ben Carson, for example, called for the U.S. to block Middle East refugees from its entering its borders.
The attacks were a bleak reminder of the Charlie Hebdo tragedy from January, after which Donald Trump sent out an inhumane tweet.
Isn’t it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 7, 2015
The tweet was recirculated in the wake of the segue and again angered many. One of them is the normally reserved Frank Ocean. Although the tweet is months’ old, he responded to it and sent his thoughts to Paris on Tumblr.
ON THE REAL THOUGH DONALD TRUMP. HOW IS IT ‘INTERESTING’ THAT THESE SHOOTINGS HAPPENED IN A COUNTRY THAT’S TOUGH ON GUNS? TELL US DON? BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT VACUOUS OBSERVATION WAS ABOUT GIVING YOUR NRA-LOVING CONSTITUENCY A HANDJOB AND SPINNING A TRAGEDY FOR POLITICAL GAIN AND I’M THINKING MAYBE USING A SITUATION WHERE DOZENS OF INNOCENTS HAVE JUST BEEN MURDERED IN THE STREETS ISN’T THE BEST TIME. NO?
LOVE TO PARIS AND ANY INDIVIDUAL OR FAMILY WHO’S LOST LOVED ONES TO EVIL ANYWHERE IN THIS WORLD. CHILL W/ THE ANGLES.
