Beyonce fans may indeed finish out 2015 without a new album from the superstar songstress, but that doesn’t mean she won’t continue to lend her vocals to a few tracks here and there while keeping them in suspense.
Between teaming up with Nicki Minaj for the female anthem of the year, making Vogue magazine history, dropping a surprise song on her 7th wedding anniversary, quietly using her celebrity to aid the Black Lives Matter movement and other prominent social causes, and headlining a handful of high-profile concerts, Mrs. Carter has certainly had a full year career-wise despite the absence of a full-length project.
Never too far from the studio or a mic, Bey recently teamed up with British rock band Coldplay for a long-awaited collaboration to be featured on the band’s upcoming seventh studio album Head Full Of Dreams. The song, titled “Hymn For The Weekend,” is a rhythmic, up beat tune featuring a melodic blend of Beyonce’s vocals, which are heard mostly during the chorus.
Speaking on Bey’s contribution to the collabo, Coldplay’s Guy Berryman had this to say:
“She came in. She did her thing. She’s unbelievably professional. I think she was in and out in five minutes. And we are so blessed to [have her] sing on one of our songs.”
And surely, having lead singer Chris Martin as a good friend didn’t hurt the band’s chances of convincing Bey to hop on a song, either. Take a listen to Hymn For The Weekend below.
