Cleanthony Early of the New York Knicks was shot and robbed outside of a club in Queens, New York earlier this morning (December 30).

The New York City Police Department reports that the forward was leaving CityScapes Gentlemen’s Club on 58th Street in Maspeth, Queens at around 04:00 am local time this morning. He is said to have got into his Uber transport, however several other vehicles quickly cut it off. He was then surrounded by up to six men wearing ski masks, shot in the knee and robbed of a gold necklace and the gold caps from his teeth. It’s reported that the Uber driver was not injured.

The 24-year-old was later taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens. He is said to be in a stable condition.

As of press time, no arrests have been made.

The Knicks have since released the following statement regarding the incident via their Public Relations Twitter feed.

“We are aware of what occurred with Cleanthony Early this morning and are relieved that he is not in a life-threatening situation. We will not comment any further until we receive more information.”
