Brandy “Beggin & Pleadin” (NEW MUSIC)
R&B veteran Brandy is returning to music in 2016.
The 36-year-old was featured on Ty Dolla $ign’s major label debut Free TC late last year, but she’s stepping out for the first time in four years with her new Pop & Oak-produced single, “Beggin & Pleadin.”
Reminiscent of a backwoods negro spiritual, Brandy almost takes it to church on the intensely soulful record.
“Damn, boy why you make it so hard, stop putting your foot on my heart/ I know I did my wrong, I know I did my dirt/ didn’t know how bad I would hurt, told you to walk out that door and you could keep your last name/ now I’m down on my knees, it’s a shame,” she sings.
Brandy is also gearing up to star in BET’s new television series Zoe Ever After, which premiered last night. Take a listen to “Beggin & Pleadin” below.
