The success of Rihanna‘s eighth album ANTI didn’t come without hiccups. TIDAL did plan on releasing the album last week after the Drake-assisted single “Work,” but the streaming service accidentally uploaded the music early on Wednesday, January 20. Although it was swiftly taken down, it was also ripped and leaked online. TIDAL’s Director of Marketing, Grace Kim, spoke to SPIN and revealed that despite getting off to a rocky start, ANTI sold “1.4 million in not 24 hours but 15 hours.”  Another rep clarified Kim’s original statement, claiming the upload was a system error caused by Universal Music Group, not TIDAL. Read More

In 2014, Cam’ron confirmed that he plans on retiring after releasing the upcoming Purple Haze 2, but it looks like his plans may have changed. His new venture – a Canadian financial company called Sharpshooter – will team him up with none other than Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Toronto is at it again. Canadian rapper Jazz Cartier released the tracklist for his forthcoming album. Although he’s yet to release the name of the project, we’re getting a wealth of dope tracks, totaling 16 songs. The album’s only feature comes from fellow Torontonian River Tiber. Jazz also tweeted out “Fleurebruary,” which means the album is likely dropping this month. Read More
