Cam Newton Honors Cancer Patient's Final Wishes With A Signed Jersey

Cam Newton has kept pretty busy this week leading up to his first-ever Super Bowl appearance, but he still found the time to do a good deed.

On Tuesday night, the Panthers QB signed a jersey for one of his biggest fans, 22-year-old Scot Sieczko, who passed away from cancer two years ago. Scot’s mom, Trae Sieczko, wanted to fulfill her son’s bucket list and set out to get Cam’s autograph.

The mission started when Trae contacted Frank Somerville, an anchor at KTVU in Oakland, on Facebook last week for some help. He shared her story on the social media network and a woman who knows the mayor made a call. The mayor then called the CEO of the 49ers, who called one of the team’s PR staffers, who then called the Panthers to see if Newton would be up for it. Being the great guy he is, Cam was more than willing. So during Tuesday’s Super Bowl Opening Night, Trae was able to meet Cam and not only did he sign her son’s jersey, but he also gifted her a Super Bowl 50 jersey.

Trae was ecstatic about fulfilling her son’s wish.
