Following his tribute to A Tribe Called Quest legend Phife Dawg, who died last week, Terrace Martin releases his new album Velvet Portraits.
The 14-track project serves as a follow-up to Terrace’s 2014 release, Times. Unfortunately, Velvet Portraits doesn’t feature Terrace’s Jazz remix of “Alright,” but it does feature his single “Valdez Off Crenshaw.”
Velvet Portraits also boasts production contributions by some of our generation’s greatest musicians: Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, and Robert Glasper.
