Chinx Was Targeted In Fatal New York Shooting, Say Police
It’s been almost a year since Queens rapper Chinx‘s death, and investigators have finally uncovered new details surrounding the shooting.
While Chinx’s associates are refusing to cooperate with the investigation, officials revealed the shooting wasn’t a drive-by. Police say the emcee’s Porsche was trapped between the curb and a construction barrier and the murderer likely walked up to the car and began firing. Detectives also said there were at least 12 casings found at the scene.
“I wouldn’t call it a set up, but was he a target? Yes…So, we believe our shooter walked up and fired into that car. He [Chinx] was not involved, as far as we know, with any type of serious drugs. But he was about to make it big. He was going to make money. Nobody, who knows anything about this murder specifically, is cooperating with the police at this time,” Lieutenant Richard Rudolph told Fox 5.
Detectives are working on several theories, none of which are related to Chinx’s past. Stay tuned.
