Kanye West visited Ellen’s daytime talk show yesterday and dropped nothing but gems—so many that by the end of the interview, he felt the need to apologize to the audience and network for keeping it so real.
Taking time to sit and catch up with the famed host about all things Kanye, ‘Ye spoke about his outlandish tweets and $53 million ask of Mark Zuckerberg. The audience learned that Zuckerberg actually had dinner with Yeezy prior to his million dollar social media request. And, he told Ellen, he doesn’t regret a single thing he’s tweeted. Not one thing.
“Isn’t that so funny? That people point fingers at the people who have influenced us the most? They talk the most shit about the people who cared the most?” he said.
When asked about his ideas to make human existence better, Kanye decided to instead set the record straight about the generation he comes from, Michael Jackson, his attempt at working with Payless, and more.
“We’re in a renaissance period. We’re in a place where people are multi-discipline artists,” West said. “We’re not in a place where people can only have one career or one profession throughout their entire life.”
He also says he has synesthesia, and can therefore “see sounds.”
“So the exact amount of emotion and color palette and sonics and everything that I put into my music, I put into shoes, and they worked!”
Watch the interview above. Kanye West, everybody.
