After T.I.’s Irving Plaza concert got shot up last week, leaving one dead, three others injured, and rapper Troy Ave arrested, the NYPD has reportedly shut down Joey Bada$$‘ show, which was set to take place tomorrow in the same venue.

In a since-deleted tweet, the rapper wrote, “So NYPD cancelled my show at Irving Plaza tmrw… FYI.” It’s worth noting Wednesday night’s performance by Train, an American rock band, has not been canceled. Not surprised.

Like the true entertainer he is, Joey Bada$$ provided an alternative opportunity for fans to see him, tweeting the location to a NYC party he’ll attend instead. He announced via his own account:

Joey’s show at Irving Plaza would have been a part of the Governors Ball’s After Dark concert series, which was set to take place at different venues throughout the city this weekend. According to Billboard, it’s unclear whether or not the other shows in the series will still happen following Joey Bada$$’ canceled performance.

Does the NYPD have grounds to cancel his performance simply because it’s under the hip-hop umbrella? Click here for his original tweet and leave your thoughts below.
