When it comes to having her voice heard and standing up for what she believes in, Solange Knowles is about that life.

The songstress lent her support to Baton Rouge on Sunday by attending a protest there against police brutality following the deaths of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling. Solo, who resides in New Orleans, brought her husband Alan Ferguson along with her to the demonstration.

She took to Twitter to describe how the peaceful protesters were intimidated by the Baton Rouge police, who wore head-to-toe riot gear and carried assault rifles. She tweeted:

She also retweeted the powerful image below of BRPD in full military gear attempting to grab a young Black woman:

Just a day before the protest, Solange was spotted hanging out with activists Deray Mckesson and Netta for Deray’s birthday.

After Mckesson was arrested, then released, Solo and her husband met up with him at the Baton Rouge protest.
