Former Maryland Terrapin Duane Simpkins, who was the third freshman to play varsity basketball at DeMatha under the late Morgan Wootten, joins Doc and Galdi to remember his former coach. Simpkins reveals that he had been cut from varsity before actually being called back up. He also recounts his favorite moment and favorite team from his time playing at DeMatha. He characterized Coach Wootten as a great motivator when it came to communicating with his players. He never cursed at his players and was always calm, rarely ever rattled. The current George Mason assistant also played under Gary Williams, another Hall of Fame coach in his own right, and compared the coaching styles of these two greats. To conclude the segment, Simpkins sheds light on why Wootten never left Dematha, with his family being a huge deciding factor.
