Regardless of mainstream appeal, Memphis Bleek is still active. He stopped by The Breakfast Club to deliver much needed updates and answer some questions we have always wanted to know.

In this digital age where Rap friendships can end based on liking someone’s picture on social media, Bleek’s loyalty to the Roc should be commended. The Brooklyn native is ready to drop new material but isn’t trying to fit in either.

DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God got him to talk about Jay Z, Dame Dash, Roc-A-Fella, Hip-Hop police and more.

So we present the top 10 things we learned from Memphis Bleek on The Breakfast Club. Who know Rick Ross and the Memph man had that connection in history?

1. Ross

On the low, Memphis was the one who put Jay Z onto Rick Ross. He met Ross while recording with Trick Daddy. Rozay spit for Bleek in the studio and Bleek called Jay on the spot.

2. Gassed

Memphis Bleek started to feel himself after “Coming Of Age” was released on Jay’s album. He slacked off and missed the No Way Out tour and was not invited to work on In My Lifetime due to his laziness.

3. Dame

He is thankful to Damon Dash to this day for getting him out of a bad contract.

4. Legacy

Bleek doesn’t feel in a ways about how Roc-A-Fella ended, he is proud of what it has become with Roc Nation.

5. D’USSÉ

Regardless of public opinion, Bleek actually plays an important role in the marketing and events of D’USSÉ.

6. Nas Beef

Jay told him and the Roc-A-Fella crew to step aside when Nas dropped the infamous “Stillmatic” freestyle.

7. Biggs

According to Bleek, allegedly Kareem “Biggs” Burke is free.

8. The Name

Bleek actually got his moniker from a female he met in Memphis. She introduced the famous “Making Easy Money Pimping Hoes In Style” to him.

9. Beanie

Bleek said Beanie Sigel went to Marcy Projects to play dice. He stood out there for an hour until he hit with a 4,5,6 so he can really say he lives his rhymes.

10. Hip-Hop Police

According to DJ Envy the Hip-Hop task forced once told him the only Brooklyn rapper who they constantly kept an eye on was Bleek.
