Scarface called into the HoodHype Show last night to express his displeasure with VH1 for the “Dirty South” label that has been applied to their upcoming Hip-Hop Honors tribute to Southern MCs.

The legendary MC has taken issue with how VH1 will handle the representation of southern artists and their segregation from other honorees.

Put me in general population with the rest of these…(artists). Put me in with Das Efx” – Scarface

He notes that Too Short was honored along with De La Soul in the past and that it should be done that way. (props to Nahright)

What do you think? Should there be a separate Hip-Hop Honors separated by region? Or should all artists be grouped together and honored appropriately?
