Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and Clifford “TI” Harris were arrested yesterday for felony possession of ecstasy and Methamphetamine. On October 13th, 2009 TI was arrested before the BET awards for possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He served nine months of his year and a day sentence; he was released on March 26, 2010 on parole.

The Twitter community has reacted with love for the platinum selling artists but also made something very clear–that Tiny should take the charge for her husband. This idea stems from the fact that TI, on parole with a felony record looming over his head would face a more severe punishment if convicted of felony drug charges.

Should Tiny take full responsibility for the controlled substance found in their Maybach?

DISCLAIMER: THEURBANDAILY DOES NOT SUPPORT ILLEGAL ACTIVITY

First Things First: This has to be the dumbest thing done by a rapper since TI getting arrested for buying machine guns-WTF?!

Now onto the question at hand.

(By taking the rap, we mean saying my substances were hers)

If Tiny does take the rap for the controlled substance found in their Maybach then TI won’t be penalized for violating Parole–therefore he won’t potentially have to serve the remainder of his previous sentencing. The legal system is particularly hard on rich black men, though he got off pretty easy on his last case, the legal system may not be as generous again–it may even be more ammunition to make him suffer more this sentence.

TI would have faced up to 10 years in prison but after a plea bargain and $100,000 fine it was reduced to 366 days, house arrest and parole.

I’m not a lawyer but is it worth Tiny going to jail for a possible of 365 days for her husband not going to jail for however much of the last sentence the judge orders him to serve?

Tiny doesn’t have a criminal record(to our knowledge) so she probably wouldn’t get that much time.

Tiny would have a felony, but then again she doesn’t have to apply for a jobs at Toys R’ Us anytime soon. She’d be labeled a “ride or die chick” so she’d probably be respected in jail. She also is a celebrity who will probably get special treatment. TI has enough money to keep her commissary full and they’re married so she’d get conjugal visits.

My co-worker Bill says she shouldn’t serve it or that she and T.I should take the rap equally.

The bottom line is the decision lies with her and TI. But what do you think she should do?
