50 Cent has repeatedly been targeted by credit card thieves who have attempted to use his American Express card information in five cities since 2007. It’s believed that someone within 50’s circle is responsible for the leaking of his account information.

In late 2010, a man attempted to purchase two Sony flatscreen televisions from a West Hartford, CT electronics store over the phone using 50’s account info.  The store’s manager became suspicious when they noticed that the delivery address was located out of town. The manager reported the card number to American Express, who later confirmed that the transaction was unauthorized even though the card hadn’t been reported stolen.

The man called the store later to ask why his televisions hadn’t been delivered. The store responded that he needed to pick the televisions up himself.  Two men arrived at the store to pick up the televisions and were arrested by police officers on site.

American Express contacted 50 to inform him of what happened.  He has reportedly decided to let the courts decide how the two men will be punished.

Frank Canace, a Connecticut police officer who is also representing one of the men that was arrested, said he’s been “in court at least three times” when 50 Cent’s name “has popped up as a victim of credit card crime.”
