What: Zapp was literally a family affair. The funk and R&B troupe was formed in 1978 by brothers Roger Troutman, Larry Troutman, Lester Troutman, Tony Troutman, and Terry “Zapp” Troutman. Roger Troutman’s influential use of the Talk Box is credited with influencing Gangsta rap (G-Funk) and the use of Autotune.
