This is what happens when you make jokes and people take you seriously.

When news of the impending snow storm in the North East began to spread I joked on Twitter that we would dedicate a day to posting Cocaine rap by hip-hop’s “snow” men. I was totally joking but folks are hitting me on email asking “where’s the playlist?” Damn, it’s like that?

It’s not that I am completely against rap songs about drugs. Hip-hop is about reality and like it or not drugs get used and sold in this country on a daily basis. But the context and execution of the various songs is lacking sometimes.

But without further adieu, this is your brain on drugs…

Rick Ross F/Avery Storm “Rich Off Cocaine”

Love this beat. Hate the topic.

OJ Da Juiceman F/ Gucci Maine “Make The Trap Say Aye”

Jay-Z “Blue Magic” (yeah, this is about heroine but ask me if I care)

Clipse “Keys Open Doors”

Young Jeezy, “White Girl”

Raekwon, “Ice Water” (you really could put all of Cuban Linx on here but whatever)

Ice Cube, “A Bird In The Hand” (actually one of my favorite Ice Cube songs)

50 Cent, “Cocaine”

Master P, “Getto D” (I hope Rakim got a check for this)

Nas, Nature, AZ & Foxy Brown “Affirmative Action” (Foxy’s verse could have gotten her Fed time)

Lil Wayne & Juelz Santana “I Can’t Feel My Face”

UGK, “Pocket Full Of Stones”

T.I. “Rubberband Man” (would have gone right here but Youtube is hatin, and I’m really not motivated enough to steal the FLV file…next)

Busta Rhymes F/ Raekwon “Goldmine”

Boogie Down Productions, “Illegal Business”

(Had to end it like this…)
