Roc Nation signee J. Cole dropped a new song on Twitter. He released “Grew Up Fast” as a thank you to his followers. Cole reached 2 million followers on the social networking site.
Producer Canei Finch sampled David Ruffin’s 1969 joint, “The Double Cross” for “Grew Up Fast.” In the song, Cole talks about rap music traveling in the pop direction. “It’s only right I brought back the soul/ Ya’ll got way too electro, damn near techno/ Halfway homo, way too metro,” J.
