Lupe Fiasco 'Tweets' About New Album
Grammy Award winning rapper Lupe Fiasco has taken to the social networking microsite, Twitter, to announce some changes about his third album. After originally planning a three-disc work tentatively titled LupEND, Lupe has changed course and plans to name the upcoming album We Are Lasers.
“‘We Are Lasers’…comes from some repressed high school outcast shit…blended amidst ‘And He Gets The Girl’ ambitions,” Lupe tweeted over the weekend. Initial reports point to the album being a close-knit affair featuring the rest of his 1st & 15th family, with his longtime producer Soundtrakk handling most of the production.
Aside from name checking a few of his current favorites, including Kid Cudi and the aforementioned Soundtrakk, Lupe didn’t provide any other musical details. Although he did add that he would not likely be continuing the string of successful mixtapes, stating, “I don’t feel I have to do mixtapes anymore…I think that point was proven…”
