Warner Music Group has given up its exclusive distribution rights to Talib Kweli’s Blacksmith Music Label, Billboard.com reports.

The major label has retained its first right of refusal for artists on the Blacksmith roster. A spokesman from Warner says that it could still release music from Jean Grae, Srong Arm Steady and singer Anjulie.

Kweli is still signed to Warner Bros. as a solo artist, and is reportedly finishing up work on his duet album with Hi-Tek, the highly anticipated Reflection Eternal: Train of Thought II. The album, sequel to the duo’s critically acclaimed 2000 release, is due this year.

Blacksmith Music was launched in 2006 by Kweli and Corey Smyth, neither of whom were available for comment. Releases from the label include Jean Grae and 9th Wonder’s Jeanius and Talib Kweli’s Eardrum.
