OK Magazine does not claim to know who sent the text message to Chris Brown that reportedly angered Rihanna and led to an altercation that left her battered and bruised.
But, the British publication says Brown was spotted earlier in the day “flirting” with two female celebrities – Paris Hilton and Leona Lewis – and his behavior with them may have fueled the confrontation.

Tensions between the young lovers reached the boiling point at Verizon & BlackBerry Storm Grammy Party at Boulevard 3 on Friday night, where Brown chatted with Hilton while Rihanna performed.
“He and Paris went outside together,” said a witness. “Paris was all over him. Rihanna caught wind of it and spent the rest of the night glued to him.”
Chris appeared distant from his girlfriend Rihanna at music mogul Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy Bash in Beverly Hills on Saturday. That’s when the young crooner turned his attention to British hummingbird Leona Lewis.
“At one point, Rihanna caught Chris flirting with Leona,” according to the source. “They were carrying on and laughing, and Rihanna saw Chris with his hand on the small of Leona’s back. It may have been innocent, but that set Rihanna off.”
Meanwhile, Lewis has released a statement denying that she had anything to do with triggering the showdown between Brown and Rihanna. Lewis’s spokeswoman said: “This has nothing to do with Leona. She is very happy with her boyfriend Lou (Al Chamaa) and it was totally innocent on her behalf. There was no flirting.”
Hilton also denied she was flirting with Brown. She said in a statement: “That’s ridiculous and an outright lie.”
Brown, 19, has been charged with making threats in connection with the incident, in which Rihanna was left with serious injuries to her face and bite marks on her body. Police sources said the ‘Umbrella” singer, 20, lost consciousness during the alleged attack in the early hours of Sunday morning, as Brown allegedly choked her and screamed: ‘I’m going to kill you!’
