Dear Black Man,

I’ve been trying a visualization technique that I recently learned that is supposed to help me get my wish granted. The technique requires that you first write out what you want in as much detail as possible. Then you are supposed to visualize getting the wish granted, what it feels like, etc. This part should last about 20 minutes.

I was able to write out the wish in great detail, but I cannot seem to visualize what I want for longer than a minute. Every time I try, I get distracted or I drift off. I tried sitting in perfect silence, sitting on the floor, waiting until I went to sleep to try and imagine it. I got nothing.

I’m wondering, is an inability to visualize what you want a sign that you don’t really want what you thought you did?

The Black Man:

Hi Carla,

The technique you are practicing is a great one to use. It is the power of intention. Just like most new things you try, you don’t pick it up and master it right away. It takes practice to do so. Stay committed to doing it and it will happen.

Just because you don’t visualize it now does not mean that you don’t want it. Have patience and keep working at it.  Practice, commitment, and faith are the best tools to achieve what you want.

That’s my 99 Cents worth.
