In this next letter one guy is really feeling his old high school friend but she’s been humpin around like Bobby Brown. What should he do?

Dear TBM,

I reconnected with someone that I went to high school with. We never dated back then but now I am attracted to her and we started dating. It is getting pretty serious. There is one major obstacle that I have. She admitted that in high school and college she has had been with a lot of men. Some of them I know but I am not friends with any of them. It has been almost fifteen years since we have been in high school and I know she has changed for the better, but in my mind I still can’t over the fact of how she was back then. I think that she is marriage material now but I am stuck in this dilemma. What should I do?

Dazed And Confused.

The Black Man:

Hi Dazed And Confused,

One thing that many of us tend to do is live in the past and it stifles us from living in the “Now”. We have all done things in our past that we are probably not so proud of. We live and we learn and you can’t dwell on it because you can’t change anything that has happened in the past. In this case you are looking at actions that happened 15 years ago. We change and hopefully learn from our mistakes and it seems like from what you have stated that she has. If you love this woman and she has not slept with you best friend or someone close to you I feel you should really work on getting over it and see where this relationship can take you both.

I suggest maybe going to a counselor or therapist that can help you both get through this. Don’t throw something good away without really trying to make it work on your end.

That’s my 99 Cents worth.

Good Luck.

TBM
