“The Boondocks” May Come Back
When Aaron McGruder’s comic strip turned Adult Swim animated series, The Boondocks, ended its run after just three years, fans held out hope that the popular cartoon might somehow, someway find its way back on the air. It looks like fans may get their wish. Regina King, who voiced Huey and Riley Freeman on the show, told Sway on Shade 54 satellite radio that The Boondocks may return — possibly as a movie.
When asked if it was done for good, she revealed: “I don’t think so. I talked to Aaron and it looks like they’re working things out. I’m trying to be positive because you know you say one thing, and the next thing you know it just all fell apart.” She did quickly add, “But it looks strong like we’re coming back.”
