The on-going drama of radio personality DJ Mister Cee and his solicitations of sex from transexual prostitutes came to a dramatic close yesterday when he resigned on the air.
“I don’t want you guys to lose sponsors and money. I don’t want you guys to lose that,” he said in an interview with the station this morning, just hours after he announced that his 20-year run on New York’s Hot 97 radio station was over. “I am tired of trying to do something or be something that I’m not.”
Mister Cee has been a staple on New York radio for almost two decades, was Big Daddy Kane’s DJ and was instrumental in helping to launch the career of the late Notorious B.I.G. However, in recent years he has had several run-ins with the law over alleged solicitation of transvestite prostitutes.
“Have I lied about getting sexual fellatio in a car from a transexual, yes?” he continued. ” I feel bad for the listeners that it did take a video for me to say this. Because I have been in denial with this for a very long time. Do I consider myself gay? No. I have gotten fellatio from transvestites and that’s as far as it went. I’ve never had sexual intercourse with a man.”
He went on to say that the video released of him soliciting sex from a transexual was from “late last year” and that he does know the person, who goes by the moniker Bimbo Whinehouse.
Hot’s Program Director Ebro Darden asked Mister Cee if he would reconsider resigning and let him know that he has a place at the station if he still needs it.
Mister Cee was back on the air today and spun a mix of songs to announce his “return” like Diddy’s “Hate Me Now” and Prodigy’s “Hold Me Down.”
