Victor Cruz is taking one for the team.

After much debate, Cruz has decided to take a huge pay-cut and will be staying with the New York Giants. The wide receiver took to Twitter and Instagram Wednesday night to announce the news by posting a picture of himself outside the Giants’ facility with the caption, “Once a Giant always a Giant. See you in September.”

Cruz was originally scheduled to make a cool $7.9 million this season, but will now take home just $1.3 million, ESPN reports. However, with additional playing time and production incentives, he could make up to $5.5 million. Cruz hasn’t played since a November 2014 game in which he suffered a season-ending knee injury, and he didn’t see the field at all during the 2015-16 season because of a calf injury.

The extra cap space helped the Giants hand out a total of $204.25 million in player contracts. Hopefully all of these major moves help Big Blue in their quest for a third ring in a decade.
