Fathers in hip-hop usually make headlines for all of the wrong reasons. From paternity suits to “baby mama drama” the negativity overshadows the stories of fathers who love and support their kids. This has to change.
When Chicago MC Rhymefest came to our offices to discuss his up-coming album El Che, part of our conversation steered to our sons and the issues and concerns we’ve had raising them. So in this first part of our interview (which covered everything from Wacka Flacka and infidelity to Comic Books and Obama ) Rhymefest shared how he rescued his son from a mental hospital and obtained full custody of him.
