With the Grammys getting ready to pop off in a few hours, it’s good to get away from all the drama for awhile and celebrate the accomplishments of our favorite musicians and get hip to a few new acts as well. 5. Eminem & Elton John Make-Up:

To close the 2001 Grammys, Eminem took the stage with Elton John for a performance of the song ‘Stan.’ Gay-rights activists, offended by Eminem’s lyrics, staged a protest at the event, but were muted by the support from openly gay icon John

4. Andre 3000 Goes ‘Native’:

OutKast’s Andre 3000 ruffled more than a few feathers in ’04 when he performed his Grammy-winning hit, ‘Hey Ya,’ with a peculiar Native American theme. Protesters claimed the act perpetuated disrespectful stereotypes of American Indians.

3. 50 Cent ‘Bum Rushes’ The Show:

50 Cent, favored to win 2004’s Best New Artist, leapt onto the stage and snatched the trophy before Evanescence, the real winners, knew what was happening. 50 ultimately proved himself a gentleman and handed the award to Amy Lee before leaving the offstage.

2. Milli Vanilli “Lip-Sync’s” During The Grammys:

The year was 1990 and the Grammy nominated duo, Milli Vanilli, performed “Well, Girl You Know It’s True,” on the acclaimed show and seemed to be living the high life. But eight months later, their lip-synching was exposed, the truth came out about their multi-platinum debut All Or Nothing and they lost their coveted Grammy, splitting up in the process.

1. Ol’ Dirty Bastard Professes, “Wu-Tang’s For The Babies!”:

In 1998, the late O.D.B. interruped an acceptance speech by singer Shawn Colvin to protest the Wu Tang Clan’s loss of the Best Rap Album award earlier in the night. The defense for his actions? “Wu Tang is for the children!
