On Saturday, March 7th, the morning went off with a bang as rapper Beanie Sigel celebrated his 35th birthday with an estimated 600 fans in attendance. A shooting and a fight left a man injured at Pennsylvania’s Penn Landing night club.

Police say that 24-year-old Tyheem Baker was shot in the upper left chest around 1am after getting into an argument with two unidentified men. Baker, who was rushed to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, told authorities that he did not know the men who shot him. Police revealed that prior to the shooting they were called to the club after a fight took place outside the venue.

Mysteriously, the club’s video-surveillance system “malfunctioned,” according to Six Shot.

Sigel’s mother was also in attendance while Sigel was reportedly on-stage during the incident.

His attorney, Fortunato Perri, Jr. said Sigel was “performing on stage at the club.” Sigel is still under supervised release following a federal weapons conviction. “He was told later that something happened, but he didn’t know who was involved,” said Perri.

The Philadelphia Daily News notes that amidst posters and fliers, Sigel’s mom was collecting admissions from hundreds at the door.
