There are varied reports about the real reason for Rihanna’s sudden weekend trip to New York, where she was photographed over the weekend hanging out with Brandy and en route to a dinner with Jay-Z and Beyonce.
The New York Daily News reported she was in town to meet with industry execs about several film projects, including a starring role in a remake of 1992’s “The Bodyguard,” which starred Whitney Houston as a starlet and Kevin Costner as her protector.
Rihanna’s updated version would represent a “young and sexy take” on the film, a source told the newspaper, with “GI Joe” star Channing Tatum mentioned to take on Costner’s role.
The Daily News also said Rihanna is eying a “Charlie’s Angels” sequel , as well as potentially starring alongside Justin Timberlake in another film project.
Her camp, however, says reports of her taking meetings in New York are false, and that she hasn’t spoken to any directors, producers or production companies.
Meanwhile, gossip site MediaTakeOut.com claims the real reason for her sudden trip to the Big Apple is because she has finally broken things off with Chris Brown, who is currently accused of assaulting her, and needed to get away to “clear her head.
