CNN Interviews Issa Rae, Creator Of “Awkward Black Girl”
CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield interviews producer/actor/director Issa Rae on the success of her hit web series, “The Misadventures Of Awkward Black Girl.”
“I didn’t see myself represented on screen, in television or film,” says Issa Rae. “I love these shows like ’30 Rock’ and ‘Parks And Recreation’ because they have this awkward humor. So I thought it would be funny to have a series based around this African-American girl who goes through these everyday awkward situations.”
