I guess the crazy man had a rational moment.

VIA EUR:

Jamie Foxx may be crazy like a fox, or just plain crazy, but he ain’t stupid. Well, not stupid enough to know when it’s time cut his losses. Such was the case last night on his conveniently scheduled appearance on the “Tonight Show With Jay Leno.”

Like they say, timing is everything. The comedian/actor/singer used the occasion to publicly apologize to 16-year-old singer Miley Cyrus for making some pretty outrageous comments about her.

When he appeared on “Leno” last night, Foxx, 41, admitted that he’d gone too far and extended the youngster an apology.

Miley, I apologize. I’ll call you,” Jamie said, as he stared directly into the camera. “I so apologize to her. This is sincere because I am a comedian and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it. Sometimes, as comedians as we do, we go a little bit too far.”

I have a radio show … we’re really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. But, there was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just wanna say I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. I’m a comedian.”

Foxx continued, saying that for good reason, he understands why some folks are up in a lather about the incident, but reiterated that at the end of the day the “Foxxhole” was just doing what they always do.

I got a daughter too, so I completely understand. This has really bothered me,” he said, further explaining that things may have been taken out of context. “What we do on our radio show is completely blue. What they do is pluck it off the radio show, and they play it on the internet and make it seem like — out of the blue — I said these crazy things about this young girl. It’s not like that. It’s just jokes.”

Do you think his apology is sincere? Or just another case of a media eff-up? Share your thoughts in the comments section!
