West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar has already made living legends like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg believers. Lamar’s rhymes and work ethic caused Dre and Snoop to crown him the “New King of the West Coast.” Controversial MC Lupe Fiasco is another artist handing over a co-sign to Kendrick.

While stopped in Chicago, as part of BET’s Music Matters Tour, Fiasco presented Lamar with his “Next Big Thing” award. Lupe presented the award to Kendrick Lamar and mentioned the “Next Big Thing” award is apart of his Outstanding Fan Awards. Lupe said, “Out of the many, there’s only one guy that I am a fan of that I think deserves this award, so the ‘Next Big Thing’ award goes to my big homie Kendrick Lamar.”

Right before Lupe ripped through a few verses from his new album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Part 1, he continued to heap praise onto Kendrick, “This the future right here. Unadulterated, uncut, unfiltered…but I ain’t go nowhere either.”
