Nintenod has released the first new video gaming console in the United States since The Nintendo Wii in 2006. The Wii U is the next generation of gaming from the popular maker of The Wii and the portable DS.

Retailing for $299 this is the first Nintendo console that supports high definition graphics and sports a miniature touch screen as its controller.  For now it comes in two colors; a basic white version with 8 GB of internal flash storage and a deluxe black version with 32GB of storage.

A major plus is that the system is backwards compatible with the Wii software, so you won’t have to chuck all of your old games to upgrade. Check out the trailer for “Ninja Gaiden 3” and let us know if you’ll be buying a new Wii U.
