Martin Lawrence And Kelsey Grammer In Talks Of New TV Series
Is Martin Lawrence Coming Back To TV?
So far 2013 is off to a great start: Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer are thinking about developing a comedy for Liongates TV.
According to Deadline, the comedy would be a buddy series whose format would be similar to Charlie Sheen‘s Anger Management. Meaning, they would produce 10 episodes of the show and if ratings go well, they sell 90 episodes. Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and Meet the Browns were successful with this model.
How did the two even consider this? Apparently they had a meeting in November, and the two had great chemistry.
Martin, no stranger to TV of course, had an amazing run on his hit Fox show Martin in the 90s. He is also produces TV One comedy, Love That Girl with Tatyana Ali. Kelsey Grammer has also produced some of our favorite shows, Girlfriends and The Game, and well as being an Emmy-winning actor on Frasier.
I, for one, am so down to see this show whenever it gets the greenlight and on my TV! Both actors are hilarious and I think it would be a much needed push back to scripted comedy. Who didn’t love Martin when it was out? Frasier was pretty dope too.
