Will you drop $1200 for Sony’s new Walkman? Before sleek white iPods dominated ear drums and the audiosphere at large, the Sony Walkman was the preferred method of choice for enjoying music.

The company is set to release the Walkman NW-ZX2, and it’s hitting the market with a hefty pricetag. The 128GB device will retail for $1,119.99. In a new age of affordable smartphones with multiple uses and super affordable streaming services are readily available to consumers, the asking price may be hard to swallow. On the nostalgic side, fond memories of Sony’s once cheap portable player of the ’80s that we all have stashed in storage boxes may lure some old fans. In either case, Sony promises a one of a kind experience for music lovers.

In a press release, the newly remade Walkman “can reproduce master quality recordings just as the artists originally intended.”

The Walkman is not yet available for preorder, but is expected to be available in Spring 2015.
