Mannie Fresh Talks History Of Bounce Music In New Documentary [VIDEO]
New Orleans native and longtime producer, Mannie Fresh, knows exactly what the initial reaction to bounce music is from those unfamiliar. “Most people who come to New Orleans, the first time they hear it, they embrace it, he explained. They like, ‘What the hell is that?'”

Mannie made the comments as a part of a new documentary chronicling the history bounce. According to Mannie, bounce embodies the essence of hip-hop. He said, “Bounce Music would be the essence of Hip Hop… It’s really just raw beats and response. Most [Bounce] artists will sell their own tape, their own merchandise, all of that.”
